SEO Toronto: What Is It?

What is "SEO"? It's an acronym and it stands for "search engine optimization." That doesn't tell you much, though, does it? Search engine optimization includes a variety of techniques that help increase the visibility of websites. These techniques can make you much more visible on the Internet, which in turn can give you greater success in your business. Therefore, it's important to have your website show up high in search engine listings. Your potential customers need to find you, come to your site, and, hopefully, buy from you. However, it's not just enough to get in search engine listing results. Search engines can return literally dozens of pages of results, but what you need to do is to end up on the first one or two pages of results. If you end up much lower than that, chances are also good that no one will see it because they won't click back that far to look at and therefore find your site.

So let's say, for example, that your results ranked 50 out of 200,000 possible results. Now, being in the top 50 when there are 200,000 possible results might seem pretty good, but think again. Because you ranked 50th, the results are going to show up on the bottom of the fifth page or perhaps the top of the sixth page of search results -- which again basically means you don't even exist. Most web surfers are going to look at the results on the first one or two pages, find what they need from those, and never go any further back.

To really search engine optimize your pages, you want to know how the "big three" search engines are going to see you -- especially Google. The other two are Yahoo and Bing. Because of that, you need to rank your Toronto website as high as you can based upon what those big three say, ideally on the first page of results.
